Keys Mathematics Newsletter

March 2009
Wow! This year has really flown by. End Of Instruction tests are just around the bend. We officially start testing on April 20th. The tests will be given on the computer this year. This is an exciting time as we gear up to do our best.

With the testing in mind, I have a few reminders that will be helpful to your child and me:

  • Keep absences to a minimum. If your child must be absent due to illnesses or doctor's appointments, please have him/her pick up their work. Math often builds on what we covered the day before. If your child misses, he/she is likely to feel lost when he/she returns to class. We want your child to experience success not frustration.
  • Get plenty of rest and eat breakfast. It is difficult to concentrate while dozing in class or thinking about how hungry you are.
  • Come to school prepared (with pencil and paper).
Thank you for all the support you give your child and to us!

Extra Thank You!
I would like to give an extra thank you to all the parents who attended parent teacher conferences on March 11. I enjoyed visiting with each one of you. I know we are a team to promote the success of your child. I look foward to visiting again soon. Next time, I think I will bring cookies.

Field Trip
We will be traveling to the Vocational Center in Tahlequah on Wednesday, March 25. We will be discovering possible career interests for your child. Please print off a permission slip form (from the permission slip link), sign, and return it to me by Tuesday, March 24.

Reminder!
Parents, please remember to check the link to the homework page to see what is being expected from your child. Once again, if I may be of any help at any time, please call me at the school office or e-mail me at tilleyrl@nsuok.edu. I will get back with you as soon as possible.
